"Topper" may have set a standard for the breed that may never be matched with his Dual Championship title, National Field Championship win, four National Amateur Field Championship, VX, SDX and NRD titles and he was the first Master Hunter in the breed. As a young dog, he had a #1 Top Ten Derby Ranking. Except for his National wins, most of his field points were accumulated in All-Breed trials.

Topper swept the National Amateur Championship for four consecutive years (1988-1991) and he captured the 1991 National Open Championship just weeks before his 10th birthday.
