CH Gourmats Sardar became the breed's fifth BIS winner in the late 1950's. Fritz was the smallest puppy of the litter and was sold as a pet. For one reason or another, the home did not work out, nor did the subsequent ones. The third time Fritz returned, Erma decided that the dark gray puppy was fated to be her dog, and his fine show career proved the wisdom of her decision.

Handled by Dick Cooper to 115 breed wins, Fritz went on to many group placements as well as 3 American and 2 Canadians BIS wins (1958-1961) He captured the breed at Westminster in 1958 and 1960 (top winning Weimaraner those years) at the Chicago International in 1959, 1960 and 1962 and the 1960 National Specialty. Fritz is a BROM sire of fourteen champions.
